When are Property Taxes Due?

Taxes are due November 30th of each year

What are the deadlines/penalties?
A
The Treasurer's office will accept tax payment if postmarked by Nov. 30th, of each year, Anything after that will have a $10.00 penalty
if the payment is under $500.00 or 2% penalty of tax if it is over $500.00. This is assessed on each parcel. The interest is not charged until January 16th, 2010.

How do I know if my property taxes are paid by my mortgage company?

If your mortagage company pays your property tax, a box in the top right hand corner of your tax notice labeled "Mortgage Company"
will list the name of the mortgage company that has requested your tax amount.

If my mortgage company pays my property taxes for me, why am I getting a notice?
A
The property owner still receives the original tax notice, for their records, even if a mortgage company pays the property taxes.

What if I did not receive a tax notice?
A
If you did not receive a tax notice, please notify the Treasurer's office for a copy and to verify if the correct mailing address is on file.

Can I get a get a copy of my tax statement online?
A
A copy of the Statement of Taxes Due can be accessed from the county's website, http://property.summitcounty.org/treasurer/web/

If I want to pay my taxes online, how do I find my property account number?
A
Your account number is found in the upper left hand side of your tax notice. You can also search by the property address or owner name.
