Changes for 2011
A special meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, September 20th at 4:00 p.m. to review the application and inform applicants of recent legislative changes. This meeting is scheduled at the Richins building auditorium, 1885 West Ute Blvd. Park City, Utah.
Origins
In November 2000, Summit County voters approved a ballot initiative designed to fund recreational facilities as well as cultural organizations. The main emphasis of the initiative is to support organizations that enrich the overall quality of life for residents throughout the County.
On July 1, 2001, the county began collecting one additional penny on every ten dollars spent within Summit County. The distribution of tax monies to grant applicants is 55% to cultural organizations and 45% to recreational facilities.
