Doug Clyde has been a prominent figure in Summit County and Park City development and recreation industry for over 40 years. He moved to Park City in 1978 as a manager with Alpine of Tahoe, then owners of Park City Mountain Resort. Since then he has worked as an executive in the mountain resort industry and as an independent consultant on some of the area’s largest projects, including Empire Pass, Montage and the base of Park City Mountain Resort. His current clients include the Peace House, Bill White Farms and resort related projects in the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Doug Clyde was sworn in to the Summit County Council in January of 2017 after serving on the Eastern Summit County Planning Commission. He is passionate about land use issues and preserving the quality of live throughout Summit County. As an outdoor recreationalist and land planner in mountain environments, he has a strong background in environmental issues related to land use and is committed to decreasing sprawl, reducing traffic, improving transit and keeping our air and water clean.

Doug and his wife, Melissa Caffey, have resided in Oakley for the past 24 years. He is the only East Side resident on the County Council.
