The Community Development Department is comprised of the Planning and Building Divisions of Summit County.
To meet the diverse needs and goals of the County, there two separate and distinct planning districts (map).
The Eastern Summit County Planning District serves the interests of citizens living in the more rural eastern side of the County in the unincorporated areas surrounding the cities of Henefer, Coalville, Oakley, Kamas and Francis.
The Snyderville Basin Planning District serves the interests of citizens living in the more urban western side of the County in the unincorporated areas surrounding Park City.
