In November 2016, Summit County residents passed two transportation initiatives. The combined initiatives provide the funding needed for a comprehensive and regional transportation approach for Summit County. The plan calls for critical road improvements to help alleviate congestion and enable enhanced and increased bus service throughout the County.
As a result of the two initiatives, residents have already seen increased bus service and new programs like bike share. In the near future, we’ll begin road improvements as part of the new Small Cities Grant Program and general infrastructure upgrades. Behind the scenes, the County will be working on design and engineering of larger portions of the transportation plan like improvements to SR-224 and SR-248.
